What is your hometown? Barneveld.
What are you studying at Madison College? Liberal Arts for Elementary Education. Right now I'm planning for UW-Whitewater, but I'm also thinking about Viterbo for next year.
Where do you see yourself in five years? Hopefully I will have a job. I want to move to Scottsdale, Ariz. It's where we go for basketball (winter break trip) and I really like it out there.
How does it feel to clinch the N4C regular season title in just your first season in the conference? I don't really see a difference because we played some of the teams last year. I just think of it as another conference title. I mean there are tougher teams in our conference than last year so it's a bigger accomplishment.
What is your signature move? I like to do a power dribble and drop baseline on either side.
What would you most likely be found doing when you aren't playing basketball? Work or school and spending time with friends.
Who is your favorite athlete? Brett Favre (even in a Minnesota Vikings jersey) or Donald Driver.
What is your favorite Winter Olympics event to watch? I like watching snowboarding.
If you could go to any live event, where would you go? A Taylor Swift concert.
What is your dream vehicle? A nice SUV like a Suburban or a Cadillac Escalade.
If you had a $1,000 gift card to a store of your choosing, where would you go? maurice's.
What three words best describe you? Athletic, happy, because I always have a smile on my face and caring.
What do you like most about spring? The weather.
If you could take a trip anywhere in the world, where would you go? Australia, my sister went there and said it was really fun. I just want to see a different culture.
What is your signature move? I like to do a power dribble and drop baseline on either side.
Jared Barthels is the only center on the Madison Area Technical College men's basketball team. The 6-foot-5 big man averages 4.5 points per game and 3.8 rebounds per game for the WolfPack. The second-year player will need to stay healthy and be productive if Madison College hopes to make a postseason run in Joliet, Ill. The Joliet Junior College Wolves are the Region IV tournament host and the No. 4 ranked team in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association Division III poll.
What is your hometown? I was born in Hayward, Calif. and lived there for five years. Then I moved to St. Louis for six and have lived in Wisconsin for almost nine years now.
What are you studying at Madison College? Liberal Arts.
What is your signature move? It's Al Jefferson's move, the fake to the middle and spin to the baseline. I'm not quite there yet, but I'm getting there.
Who would you say is the greatest team of all-time? The Celtics when they had Larry Bird (1979-92) and Bill Russell (1956-69).
What would the average person never guess about you? I like watching baseball more than watching basketball, not more than playing basketball though.
What do you like to do before a game? Eat, it clears everything in my stomach.
What is your favorite Winter Olympics sport to watch? Snowboarding.
What do you look forward to the most about spring? The weather, I hate Wisconsin weather. This state is pretty nice, but the weather sucks.
What are you most likely to be found doing when you aren't playing basketball? Homework, work and sleep, that's about it.
If you could play any NBA player one on one, who would you play? Luke Walton, I'd like to show him some moves because I think he got into the NBA because of his name.
What is your favorite thing to drink? Kool-Aid, it's at the top of the list. What flavor? You're killing me, cherry.
Quote of the interview:
"I give you permission to spice whatever you want up. Just don't say I hate my coach or anything like that."
