Madison College Math Club
On Friday, Feb. 5 Madison College's Math Club will be hosting Professor James Hamilton, from the Department of Chemistry and Engineering Physics at UW-Platteville, in the first of its lecture series of the semester. The lecture will be held at Truax in room 209 at 3:30 p.m. Pizza and door prizes will also be provided.
Student Art Show
The Yahara Journal is sponsoring an art show to be held during the month of February in the Truax Library. A $100 best in show award is up for grabs. Deadline for submissions is Jan. 27 and they can be dropped off in the Student Life Office, Room 140 at Truax or downtown in room D125. Submissions must be framed, mounted or ready to display in any way. All items will be considered for publication in the Yahara Journal.
Pride Alliance Prom
Madison College's Pride Alliance will hold a semi-formal dance on Friday, Feb. 5 from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. in the Truax cafeteria. 250 tickets are available and can be purchased in the Student Life Office, Room 140. Advance tickets cost $25 for a couple and $20 for a single. Tickets at the door cost $30 for a couple and $25 for a single. The Pride Alliance Prom will be a LGBTIQ friendly event.
The River Food Pantry
The River Food Pantry, located at 2201 Darwin Rd, offers assistance to low-income residents. They provide pantry assistance, hot meals, clothing and household furniture and small appliances. For more information on what they offer or to find out what you can do to help call Andy Czerkas at (608) 239-6283 or Jenny Czerkas at (608) 213-5114. Basketball Home Games
The men's and women's basketball teams return home to the H. Douglas Redsten Gymnasium to face Triton College on Tuesday, Feb. 2. The women play at 5:30 p.m. and the men play at 7:30 p.m. The Madison College dance team will be performing at halftime of both games. On Saturday, Feb. 6, the WolfPack host Western Technical College. The women tipoff at noon and the men play at 2 p.m.
