I miss holiday food already, and wonder why it is, that certain things only get cooked a few times a year? It's not as though they are overly difficult, and a good example is stuffing (technically dressing, if you don't put it in the bird). The prep work is simple, with only a few ingredients, and it can bake while you're making the rest of your dinner.

This is my Grandmother's recipe, which gets used at every holiday or family gathering, and it is delish! Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Ingredients

1 bag of herb seasoned bread cubes

3-4 cans of chicken broth

1 apple

2 ribs of celery

1 large onion

1 egg

Peel the apple, cut into large sections, and remove seeds. Put into food processor. Peel onion and cut into large chunks. Add to the food processor. Cut the celery into similar sized chunks, and add to food processor as well. Pulse the mixture until it's very finely diced, but not a paste!

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Dump bread cubes into a large bowl. Add the mixture of apple, onion and celery. Mix with your hands (make sure to wash!). Add 3 cans of chicken broth and 1 egg. Keep mixing until everything is thoroughly coated. It should feel moist, but not mushy. The outsides of the cubes should be holding some liquid. If it's not moist enough, add the 4th can of broth.

Add mixture to 9x13 pan and bake for 35-40 minutes.

Feeds up to 6 people.

Some other Add-ins you can try for fun are:

Carrots

Cranberries

Garlic

Fresh herbs

Whole wheat bread
