Despite mid-semester fatigue with course projects and exams, Madison Area Technical College students are volunteering to help provide shelter to the needy. Thanks to a project currently taking shape with "Habitat for Humanity" at the Madison College volunteer center, students will assist building affordable homes on Nov. 13, Dec. 4, Dec. 11 and Dec. 18.

"In our community service projects we are trying to help the community and the individuals involved," says Cassie Hetzel, who is in charge of the volunteer center's new project.

If you are a Madison College student and interested in lending a hand you can find information on "Habitat for Humanity" at the Student Life Office, Room 140, or at the volunteer center. Currently, with the new home being built on 3505 Ridgeway Ave., five students have signed up to help give shelter, but ideally three more are needed.

So, if you want to be number six, seven, or eight amble on down to either of the aforementioned rooms and sign in on the weekly signup sheet.
