Obtaining your transcripts is now easier

Looking to transfer? Curious to see how you're grades are holding up? Madison Area Technical College has decided to make part of this process a bit easier for its massive student body and alumni members. Obtaining transcripts is now easier than before.
Before, the process was anything but easy and often involved standing in long lines and waiting up to two weeks for the transcripts. Confirmations were never sent out so multiple frustrating trips to the Enrollment Center or opening our mailboxes to nothing but junk mail and credit card bills began to test the nerves of the student body.
Stephanie Dean, Associate Manager of Admissions and Records, explains that the administration "found that 'free' [transcripts] weren't giving the students and alumni the type of service they needed." Though obtaining transcripts now cost $6, or $15 for 24 hour priority processing, it has become more convenient and incredibly faster. All you have to do is go to the Madison College homepage, find the link to the online ordering site, fill out the form and complete the identity authorization steps. If you have no holds on your account, the transcript is mailed within two days.
Along with shorter waiting periods, communication has also improved. The requestee is notified when the transcript request has been processed and is ready for pick up or to be delivered. If the delivery route is chosen the status can be tracked through FedEx.
If any issues or concerns arise, contact the ordering company, Credentials, Inc., directly. They will assist in answering questions regarding orders, checking the status and also help Spanish-speaking students.
Any questions about account holds or the new process can be answered by the Enrollment Center.
When asked what is expected from the changes being put into action, Dean stated, "This new process was adopted to meet the needs of our students and alumni with status communications regarding their transcript requests."
