This year the volunteer center has added a little twist to their annual event. They teamed up with the executive leadership team, which organizes events for the 50 clubs throughout the school, to include all of the clubs this year in the food drive. Not only will the clubs be able to participate in this meaningful event but they can also earn points. The club with the most points by the end of the food drive receives $150 to their club account and a traveling trophy with name plate.
But this food drive isn't just about prizes, this is a meaningful, make you feel warm inside food drive. Each year the Goodman Center hosts their Thanksgiving food drive providing over 1000 families with the amenities for a Thanksgiving dinner.
The Goodman Center frequently has a waiting list for people over their 1000-dinner limit. Thanksgiving is supposed to be a time of family and blessing, a time to fill our bellies and complain about needing to go to the gym. There are some families that can't have that Thanksgiving meal.
Individuals should dig though their pantry, go to the grocery store or come to the student life office and drop off five bucks. The items needed are listed on the posters throughout the school that include canned vegetables, fruit, pie mix and cranberry sauce.
If you wish to make a donation drop your items off in one of the boxes around the hall or at the student life office; make all money donations at the student life office. Soon you will feel that warm fuzzy feeling inside you, warm enough to keep you going throughout this holiday season.
