More good things to come at West Campus

Do you remember the excitement you felt as a kid when you saw all those beautifully wrapped holiday presents under the tree? You couldn't wait to open the next package to find out what was inside.
That same kind of excitement is going on right now at our new West campus. We're in the process of unwrapping a number of new classes and programs to give students on the west side of the city more career choices.
Liberal Arts Transfer Program
Starting this spring, students will be able to complete our entire Liberal Arts Transfer Program at the West campus. Students will have the option of taking classes in the morning, afternoon, or nights/weekend. We're also working on having a business, education, and health pathway within the Liberal Arts Transfer Program. That means you'll be better prepared for your career when you transfer to a four-year school.
Future Options
When we look at national, state, and regional employment projections we see growth in these fields:
Business (marketing, accounting, finance, and paralegal)
Information technology (programmer/analyst, network security specialist)
Pre-engineering
Biotechnology (lab assistant)
Health (medical assistant, physical therapist assistant, lab assistant)
We're hoping to add these hot careers soon to the West campus, along with some new insurance classes.
Cutting Edge
If you love high-tech, then the West campus will make you say "wow!" We're the only college in the world that has the new TelePresence video-conferencing system. This state-of-the-art system makes you feel as if you're in the same room as your instructor-even though he/she is at a different campus. You'll save gas money and travel-while getting all the benefits of a regular classroom setting.
Our Human and Protective Services program's new 3D firearms simulation training system is the talk of the town. The giant video game-like system allows our police academy recruits to get incredible life-like training in a number of different scenarios. They have just a split-second to decide how they're going to react to such things as simulated domestic disputes, robberies, or an active shooter.
Visit the Campus
If you live on the west side and haven't had a chance to visit our new West campus yet, it's located at 302 South Gammon Road. We'll continue to keep you updated on all the exciting new programs and classes at the campus when they become available.
