Student library assistants provide support for visitors

Over the past school year, the MATC librarians have used this space to share information on a wide variety of subjects such as understanding economic news, deciphering the positions of the presidential candidates, Black History Month, exploring the Oscar winners, recognizing internet hoaxes, and even tips on holiday shopping.
These varied topics show that no matter what kind of information you need, whether it's information for your class assignment, information to make informed decisions in your personal life, or information just for fun, the MATC Libraries have the resources to provide that information and the librarians to help you find it.
But there's a lot of work that has to happen for the library to provide all the services it does and for the librarians to be able to help you find and use the resources you need. With over half a million people coming to the libraries each year, checking out more than 50,000 books, journals and films, getting over 17,000 questions answered, and attending over 300 library sessions, we can't do it alone.
So we'd like to use this space now to acknowledge the group of people that give us the support we need each day to keep all of our libraries running smoothly - our student library assistants.
Thanks to the student workers at DTEC: Sarah Hafner, Clifford Neal, Emily Sprengelmeyer and Joshua Swalheim.
And to everyone at our Regional campuses: Barb Behrend and Emily Burger at Fort Atkinson; Jacob Solterman at Portage; Jenna Sole at Reedsburg; and Ashley Arbogast, Lonice Bemis, and Wendy Liedtke at Watertown.
And at Truax: Maggie Baker, Jana Duensing, Samia George-Pratt, Rael Howes, Ben Meyer, Maria Molaison, Izac Paz, Andy Ruder, Elton San Lorenzo, Will Shira and Brandon Whisenhunt.
Thank you all for your hard work throughout the year - we really, honestly couldn't do it without you! And to all students…good luck with finals and make sure you take some time this summer to have fun, relax, and rejuvenate.
