Max Raabe musicians are multi-talented

From the opening number to the fond farewell after the 3 (yes 3!) encore songs, the energetic and eclectic Max Raabe and the Palast Orchester sent the audience from the confines of the new election season, circa 2008, back to a simpler (or at least it seems) time having the songs sung range from the 1920s and stopping in the middle of the 1930s at 1935. The songs were not entirely in English either, but there was an alternating between when Max did to when he sang in German. The songs included Singin' in the Rain to Du bist meine Greta Garbo (english translation: You are my Greta Garbo) to the energetic, but not the total end, Cosi Cosa.
The musicians of the Palast Orchester who backed Max Raabe were multi-talented and played up to 4 different instruments each, depending on the position. Yet all of them were professional in the exquisite way they played. The band, along with Max, also got a few laughs out of people either by ways they made mistakes, or by what Max Raabe said. I definitely would recommend seeing the show if it's playing wherever you're visiting, or try to wait until the next time they come to Madison.
