Spartacus: Blood and Sand

A new series has taken the nighttime television drama market by storm. Thanks to an exponential budget, thirsty viewers get their fill of love, sex, violence and tragedy though the new Starz original, "Spartacus: Blood and Sand."

New beginnings for Chafo

It is hard to imagine that what started out as The Hugo Reynolds Birthday Bash in 2006 is now the evolutionary funk beat that recently opened for the nationally recognized Sublime tribute band, 40 oz to Freedom. Chafo, as it is now known, is a Madison based band that can regularly be seen jamming at many local venues such as the High Noon Saloon and Argus.

'Shutter Island' a masterpiece

Director Martin Scorsese and actor Leonardo DiCaprio proved, yet again, to be one of the best filmmaking duos around. They did so in their latest dramatic thriller "Shutter Island," which is based on the New York Times best-seller by Dennis Lehane.

'The Odd Couple'

It is the battle of the sexes, only this time it is between the jazzy men of '65 and the liberated women of '85. The comical genius of Neil Simon's Broadway play, "The Odd Couple," comes to Madison Area Technical College in a rollercoaster of laughter. No one will want to miss the creativity of this student-run production.

"Diary of a Wimpy Kid" Based on the Jeff Kinney series of novels, "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" chronicles the daily middle school lives of Greg Heffley and his best friend Rowley Jefferson. Starring Zachary Gordon, Robert Capron and Steve Zahn, "Diary" opens in theatres on March 19.
