On Nov. 4 around 1:20 p.m. the gymnasium in James C. Wright Middle School was dripping with anticipation for President Barack Obama to enter the stage. As men from the Secret Service placed the Presidential seal on the podium, the audience leaned forward, stretching their necks to see behind the curtain that was concealing the man of the hour. As the silence was gripping, and no one was even breathing, a loud voice came over the speaker announcing, "Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome your Governor, Jim Doyle."

Every year families sit down to enjoy a nice Thanksgiving dinner but for some, that dinner doesn't come. Every year the volunteer center hosts a Thanksgiving food drive to help the Goodman Center with 1000 Thanksgiving dinner baskets. This year the volunteer center has added a little twist to their annual event.
Madison College invites students, faculty, staff, and alumni, to nominate a distinguished faculty member deserves to be recognized for their accomplishments. Nominations will be accepted through Friday Nov. 19. Madison College's Native American Student's Association will be hosting a feast in the Student Lounge on Nov.
We take it for granted that we have constant access to an ever-expanding world of information, even us creaky, crotchety old folks that inhabit the college with you young'n's. If you doubt this, try giving up going online for a few days. Of course, with research papers to write and exams on the horizon, you might want to wait until winter break to try this.
As one of the first implementation steps of our Facilities Master Plan we need to replace outdated signs that exist across most of our campuses. Before we allocated resources to this necessary project we wanted to make absolutely sure that our signs accurately reflect the Madison Area Technical College story.
